Looking for opinions, personal experience and tech info on Forster, Whidden or Triebel dies. Anyone out there use any of their products? Triebel is a German company, I wonder if anyone around here has used their dies. Which company do you use and why? Thanks!

I have 2 sets of Whidden dies. They are very good, and come with a shoulder measuring bushing to assist in arriving at shoulder set back dimensions. The 308 version I have must be the equivalent of a small base die judging from the amount of force required to lower the press handle that last 1/8 inch. The seating dies are similar in design to Redding.

I have read elsewhere that they use a reamer to make the dies that is compatible with PT&G chamber reamers, and since my 6.5x47L is thus chambered, the sizing die for that cartridge works very well in my rifle.

I'd buy more if I were to get another chambering.

Plus, John Whidden is a competitor and a really decent fellow.

Pinehardt loading dies are not on your list but should be as they are widely used and favored by benchrest shooters and other accuracy geeks. They are available only in certain calibers, and rather pricey, but you get what you pay for if accuracy is at top of your demands.

Heard good things about Forster and Whidden, never heard of triebel.

Offhand...Never heard of Pinehardt, do they have a web page or contact info? What does a set of dies cost from them?

Forster dies are great dies. I have several. They're top-notch.

I'd say they are tied with Redding dies as my favorites.

Their micrometer seating dies are a great deal.
