I was just wondering if anyone has and used the Whidden bullet pointing system?

If you have, have you seen a difference in accuracy? Increase in BC?

I was looking at getting this and just looking for some first hand experience. Was thinking about using it on my match bullets.

I believe their was a thread about it a week or two ago. I just skimmed over it but IIRC it was some no's and some yes's, kind of like the "do crimp/don't crimp" 223 threads.. I couldnt find the thread, maybe someone could link?

Thanks higgite. Good read but it was so back and forth that I'll keep doing some more research and asking around.

I was mainly looking at this for my 600yd and 1000yd F-Class loads.

For f-class, especially where the scoring rings are half the size of sling shooters I would recommend pointing (Sierra) or using bullets that don't need to be pointed, Berger.

Meplat trimming and pointing improves the BC of Sierra bullets. Is it worth it? That depends on your desire to shoot Sierra bullets and desire to wring every bit of wind bucking accuracy that you can.

Is .5 to a minute of angle worth the trouble? Only you can decide.

I use the Hoover die. Bottom line, it works for long range, 500+ yards. How well, just depends on what bullet you point.

Howard when I pointed Berger 140 vld I got a .2 mil improvement at 1000 and significant wind improvement

Yeah I said the same thing then lol
Let me know how it works out
