Folks,

The first Fort McCoy event will take place May 29th, 30th and 31st, 2009. It will be a team event consisting of a spotter and a shooter. Friday will be registration and sight in day. Saturday will be the .50 cal shooter and lesser caliber for the spotter day. The spotter will engauge targets from 100 yards to 500 yards. The shooter will engage targets from 600 yards to 1,800 yards. After each team has completed thier first string of targets they will switch positions. The shooter will become the spotter and the spotter will become the shooter. The team that has the most amount of target hits with the most ammunition left over will be the top #1 team. All teams will have 2rds. per target to engage with. The targets are military type with movers as well.

Sunday the 2nd day will be the same format with the exception that it will be any rifle, any caliber for spotter and shooter. Team Awards will be awarded to 1st-5th place for each day of competition.

Our website has been updated with all of the forms and information. northcoastshooters.com, got to the events section for details on all up-coming events. Please feel free to contact myself or any of our B.o.D.

Quick question?
Do you still have the mosquito's at Camp McCoy big enough to require landing clearance from the FAA?

The ones with the snorkel hose-nose that can suck you dry in less time then it takes to scream out a warning to the other solders that they are coming through the tent flap?

I shot there in 69 -70 with 5th Inf AMU.

Still got the welts to prove it! :D

Yes the mosquitoes are still there... But the McDonalds in Tomah more than makes up for it.... open 24/7 and serves breakfast from 12 AM on.... Fun times there.

RCModel,

LOL I am not sure, but I think I heard them discussing carrying off a young man, but they decided not to for the big]uns would take thier victim away from them!

All joking aside, this is my first time going there. We are the first civilian group to be allowed on the facility since 9-11. So all eyes will be upon us. when this event is successfully executed then we will see if we can get the shooting community another facility to be able to compete on.

We used to hide under 55 gal steel barrels.

Then bend their beaks over on the inside so they couldn't get away.

But they'd finally get enough of them stuck on the barrel to carry it off.

Never did figure out what they did with them!

You might keep an eye out for old 55 gal barrels with a bunch of holes in them.
Thats probably where they came from.
