Update: The barrel is history. I found a local realtor that plans to repair and shoot it once he has a new barrel and stock. He's going for a minimal restoration, though I wished him luck in matching a new barrel to that amazingly patina'd action.
This will be the fourth complete firearm that I have sold in my life.
