OMG, this is sooo much worse than the guy that ran the ponzi scheme defrauding churches, colleges and hospitals out of 50 billion dollars! This guy had a GUN.

Do I detect just the slightest (& I mean infinitesimally subtle) sarcasim? :D

Do ya think that maybe the FBI was embarrassed 'cause "one of their own" turned against them?

I love the way they build up and exaggerate charges like "He's charged with 3 million counts of something and each count could result in $6 trillion in fines and 4 lifetimes in hell! Oh,............................. never mind. I guess I went a smidge overboard there, eh?

dont know from the story but 3 years of investigation gotta cost a whole lot more than the 2 million these peoples are arrested for. just thinking how much the court costs are going to be is -----is, staggering.
our tax dollars being put to work poorly.

Money laundering is a crime so these clowns should be in jail.

Call is accused of possessing an unregistered machine gun, as well as parts designed to convert manual firearms into automatic weapons.

It's guys like this that make us all look bad.. Don't do this and don't be stupid!

Just as a bunch of states are talking up state sovereignty, we get a big arrest announced of a group of "sovereign movement" folks.

Hmmmm..........

Mixed feelings on this one. The so called "sovereigns" are a unique bunch. They place themselves outside the law. You have to expect that such activities will draw attention to yourself. Too bad they have to go to prison.

Personally, I think strip them of their citizenship and export them to Australia.

--- But I really have nothing against the Australians.

What a stupid, BS story.
I don't believe one word of it! Probably just made up by the
AP.
The owner of the AP is a criminal of the highest caliber.

So I suppose if the government banned all but single shot .22s, then that dialogue might have looked something like this:

Call is accused of possessing a centerfire single shot rifle, as well as parts designed to convert single shot bolt action .22s into repeating weapons.
It's guys like this that make us all look bad.. Don't do this and don't be stupid!

Right?

Converting AR's to fa's by any criminal enterprise, especially an anti-government group, is a blow to our cause. How can anyone defend these guys when they are giving the antis more ammo to use against us? Bradys say "See! No one but societal deviants like these guys need assault weapons and they change 'em so they can fire lots of bullets real fast! We need to ban them". And the feds are saying "we need to ban these weapons so they don't get used against us by anti-government radicals like these guys".

Just about anything besides responsible ownership is a "blow to our cause".

Criminals are going to keep using them, folks, so may as well get used to it.

That has to be one of the more stupid comments of the day, snug that tinfoil down

This story is about a group of folks charged with money laundering crimes that mentions one has illegal machinegun charges added on, not a machinegun story that mentions money laundering charges.

So how is this relevant to THR?

No, United Press International (UPI) is owned by The Rev. Sun Myung Moon, not the Associated Press (AP).

Dear HSO,

Every time we law-abiding gun owners read about someone being arrested, and mention is made of how many guns they had, or that they had unregistered autos, or a large stash of ammo, we need to evaluate the news report and the law enforcement press release behind it, to judge whether or not any citizen has been arrested really just for owning guns, or too many guns.

Thanks!

LBS

I seen no reason to doubt the validity of the story. Be angry at the criminals, not at AP for reporting it. While they have certainly made mistakes, I don't think the feds would move to arrest until they had plenty of evidence to prosecute with. AP did not confuse semis with autos, nor infer that all guns should be registered. I find their glitch calling them 'manuals' to be a bit refreshing, rather than try to infer that semis are autos.

They will get to present their side of the story in court. (Providing of course, that their principles allow them to speak in a court of law whose authority they don't recognize. I think they will. Call it a feeling.)

On THR, we follow the law, PERIOD.

"So how is this relevant to THR?"
It isn't.
Well, it does bring the tinfoil hat wearing element out into the daylight. I think everything should be legal, but it ain't that way.

Folks, feel free to send your hard earned dollars to these guys to pay their lawyers.
Anybody writing a big check? <insert sound of crickets chirping>
