I am very disheartened to see a plea to support HR 2830 (The GRAM Act) on FPC's facebook page. Of course, I had to do a quick search, but apparently, Representative Don Young of Alaska has introduced a bill to make it legal for gun owners to use marijuana without becoming prohibited persons. From what I've read, this would apply in states that have legalized marijuana use. (Alaska legalized in 2014.)

I was further disheartened to see so many supportive comments under the facebook post. Is drug use that common among otherwise law-abiding gun owners?

Is this what FPC, and, by extension, the 2A community which they represent, has come to?

Should FPC, and, by extension, gun owners in general, really ally themselves with the movement to legalize drug use?

You can tell by the tone of my writing here where I come down on this. I'm at the point of withdrawing all support for FPC, despite the good work they've been doing.

At the end of the day all freedoms should be supported. I think you are moralizing against marijuana in a way that many others moralize against guns. If something is otherwise legal in a state, why should it prohibit from gun ownership? Because YOU don't like it? I think this is a good proposal. LAW ABIDING citizens deserve guns whether anyone else likes it or not.
