Hi,
I just got (another) used Franchi 48/AL 12 gauge. This one came without the steel beveled spacer that goes in front of the spring and behind the brass friction ring. Anyone know where I can find one? Numrich appears to be out.
Also:
It came with a spare barrel. One barrel has a removable choke.
1. are any modern chokes interchangeable with the Franchi ones? If not, any sources for franchi 12 gauge chokes that will work?
2. there's a noticeable step outward/larger in diameter from the barrel to the choke... is that normal/okay? I imagine it's safe as long as there's not an abrupt step tighter in diameter where the barrel bore meets the back of the removable choke, but I'm not the most familiar with removable chokes as only a couple of my recently purchased shotguns have them.
3. The spare barrel is a bit rough and has come loose from the barrel extension at the rear. It's just threaded in. Does anyone know for sure how these were fixed to the barrel extensions? Epoxy? Thread Locker? Simple torque? If I bottom the barrel in the extension it over-rotates a bit... the extractor cutout doesn't line up. Thoughts/ideas? Does the barrel need to be peened... or would someone just use high strength thread locker and line up the extractor cutouts?
