Two questions:
I just scored a box of Winchester 9mm+p 100Gr Ranger FrangibleSF ammo. I own a Taurus 709 "Slim" and a S&W 39-2.
1: There has been much written on these forums regarding the 709 not being compatible with +P but the Taurus catalog states all of their firearms are +P safe except the magnesium stuff. Also, I have no idea if I can use it in the Smith. Any experience with either?
2: I can't find any good info on this ammo. Some posts say it's not reliable for self defense, some say it over penetrates, some say no...

Any help appreciated...

That is made for training on steel, not frangible in a defensive way. In a soft target like an animal, it will behave like an FMJ bullet.

The point is to avoid dangerous ricochets, so they will break up on a hard target, not anything soft like wallboard or muscle.
