I really want him to do a Hawaiian shirt pattern gun.
Definitely seems like something a Kahr/Desert Eagle would have...I seen a pink and tiger desert eagle at kahr arms near me and it looked nice.
Ha, he's probably sick of that pattern by now lol.I really want him to do a Hawaiian shirt pattern gun.
The more garish the better!Definitely seems like something a Kahr/Desert Eagle would have...

It's nice having kahr so close( about 25 miles) they make most of the band guns there but don't think any magnum research stuff. They have a store front called Tommy gun. A good 100 eagles about 75 baby eagles( old Jericho) then a good bit of Thompson and m1s, unfortunately nothing I can own not having a pistol permit and are stupid semi auto crap.Definitely seems like something a Kahr/Desert Eagle would have...

I was wondering how that worked, as while rhe mausers shanks short, most factory remington barrels taper pretty quick didnt think there was enough shank to get enough threads and a shoulder.
How did you work that one out?
I turned the threads off the Remington shank and recut a bastard thread on it. Then I took a piece of solid stock, deep well pump shaft and made a bushing with mating bastard threads with a class 3 fit to the new threads on the barrel shank. Tightened up quite snug with Loc-Tite on it, that left me a non-threaded barrel blank. Then cut Mauser threads on the bushing I just put on the Remington barrel and fit it to the Mauser action and cut the 6 AI chamber. The most difficult part was deciding what kinds of threads I wanted to use to fit the bushing to the barrel. Wanted to be sure there was enough material in the bushing so that the deep Mauser threads didn’t cut into the threads attaching the bushing to the barrel, still keeping enough material to retain chamber strength. Keep in mind the barrel was originally a 243 and being a Remington barrel, I had to turn some off the end where the Remington bolt fits into the barrel. Chamber area is now shorter, 6mm is longer, AI is bigger around at the shoulder. Had to do a bit of calculating to be comfortable with all the critical location thicknesses. Once I decided it was safely doable it was actually pretty easy. Turning down the bolt handle, threading the action for scope mounts and fitting the semi-inlet stock was pretty much straight forward. I use a bench rest follower in the magazine since I don’t need it as a repeater and didn’t want to screw up the feed rails to work with the AI cases. It’s working pretty good, 100 gr bullets at just over 3,300 fps.
One last attempt, trying to convince him to let me do a pink to black fade.
Theres space in the stock, that could be arranged....."Puttin' on the Ritz"
