Frederick, MD range?

Does anyone know if there is a good range in the Frederick area? I have enough space where I am at to shoot in my back yard safely. I am backed up to a mountain and have a VERY large pile of dirt that likes to stop bullets. My problem is that I can only shoot at about 50 yards before the contour of the ground makes it impossible to see my target. So I was looking for a place I could safely shoot 100 yards. Any ideas?

I belong to this range in Thurmont. I haven't been a member long enough to sponsor anybody but if you show up at a couple of events somebody will sponsor you. There are enough sub-clubs there that something will appeal to you.

Type in Maryland and there should be three Frederick clubs that come up.

There is a public range off Linganore Road off MD 144 just east of Frederick, run by the Cresap Rifle Club. Hours are 9-3 Sat and Sun except holidays; cost is $2 per shooter and $1 per target. 50, 100, 200 yard rifle, 7 and 25 yard pistol.

Semi-auto OK but no rapid fire; machineguns not allowed.

Just get targets half the size and it will look like 100 yards.
