has anyone been to the Fredericksburg, Va. knife and Gun Show? there is one this weekend, 01/28/06. i was wondering what kind of show it was and was it worth going. i live in md, but will be working over night in arlington this saturday.
the last few shows i went in this area were very disappointing. more non fire-arms dealers than anything else.

Looks like it is. I haven't been to an SGK show, so I don't know what the mix of guns vs other stuff is going to be. Can't make it myself as I will be out of town over the weekend.

BTW, looking for the show, I found this site: http://www.gunshows-usa.com/
Not sure how complete the listing is, but it's better than nothing.

I've been to some of their shows in Fishersville and for only having 200 tables they've had some interesting guns and good deals.

Maybe I'll ride up to F-burg Sunday if the last week of duck season hasn't worn me out. Might turn out to be a good show if they sell all the tables.

Fredericksburg gun show

:D The Fredericksburg show is a new one.:D

If you are going, stop by the VCDL table and talk with the folks there. You do not have to be a dues-paying member of VCDL to work a gun show. There are enough "old hands" that you will catch on quickly what to do and what not to do. Besides, working a shift gets you into the show without paying.

I'm not positive, but I think I recall that the mall where it is being held bans both weapons and tatoos. Kind of ironic that there is a gun show there if that's the place.

Anyone going Saturday afternoon, look for a fat old guy, grey beard & short grey hair, black Molon Labe hat, black pants, & either black or brown leather vest. If it aint me, it's a real good copy of me.;)

stay safe.

Sweet, I didn't realize this was going to be here until you all posted something about it. I'll be there!

Hopefully I won't find a better deal on the XD I just bought on Sunday... :uhoh:

gun show

Sounds like a new show, that means i have to go check it out. i will be the one in a long black trench coat with lieutenant stripes on my shoulder boards, i will be in uniform but after a 12 hour over night shift they will look a little wrinkled. i will be in what looks like a navy officers uniform but i am a commission corps officer for USPHS. i will be coming from an over night shift so i will also have blood shot eyes and scouring the show for an M! an possibly a AR-15 (gotta talk my wife and convince her it is required for all pharmacists that work over night :) .
hope to see you there

I went to a gun show in Fredericksburg Virginia today and experienced a first ... and hopefully a last. While walking through the rows of tables suddenly a loud shot rang out from the other side of the facility. Everyone turned toward the sound, froze in place, and went silent waiting for "what's next". The cops on duty at the show ran over that way and things in the rest of the facility went back to normal fairly soon. As we left the show, we asked one of the cops what happened. It turns out some idiot dealer handed a rifle to a customer that had a live round in it. While examining the rifle the customer pointed it at a wall, squeezed the trigger, and ...BANG... giving him the shock of his life, and more than a little concern to couple of hundred bystanders. Fortunately no one was hurt. First Place in the Idiot of the Month club goes to the dealer who should have ensured the rifle was empty. Second Place goes to the customer that didn't double check it himself. Were I king for a day, the dealer would have his FFL revoked and the customer would get a free bottle of valium at the dealer's expense.

i went to the show yesterday, it took us a while to find the place. apparently they had moved the location of the show but the directions on the web page of the sponsor was not updated. the show itself was pretty good. prices on pisotls was higher than retail prices even in maryland. prices on rifles was okay but there were a lot of intersting C&R guns. almost all of them looked like lower quality century and SOG. there were a couple of private dealers with really interesting items.
overall pretty good for getting parts and stuff. this was very similar in setup to the dulles expo show last year except about 1/2 the size.
i missed all the excitement it looks like.
