Heck, I can't wait for the subject to come up...........Take a gander at my new pistol!

TOZ-35M.gif

It's a TOZ-35, an Olympic quality free pistol. These are available at CDNN for $499 with the fitted wooden box. Mine is unfired. Until this afternoon.

Here are the rest of my precision hole punchers. Anyone else shoot these things?

The grip angle is not adjustable, but it is not uncommon for folks to build them up with chunks of wood and/or putty. It's too pretty for me to do that though. The lower wing makes the grip too small for my ham of a hand, and I will have to build an extension for it.

I have the same model air pistol, there alot of fun.
The bulk box Federal 22's in the same picture with the Free Pistol is in the same class as a Lotus with cheap tires and a lift kit.
Please buy some good stuff for the next photo op.

Free pistols? In that case, I'll take two!! Oh, and one for my friend. :D

The price is certainly right!

Are those things supposed to cripple your hands, or can somebody actually shoot them? Look like some sort of medieval torture devices!:neener:

The grips look like they are meant to deflect sword blows.
Looks like a rapier grip. Very interesting, very nice.

What, exactly, does a 'free pistol' do, aside from being an accurate .22 pistol? Is that an Olympic event?

P.S. I'd love to see the holster that could carry it. :p

I was just looking into this a few days ago. Free pistol must be single-shot .22; aside from that, not many other rules for the pistol itself (i.e. "free). An olympic event, free pistol is shot one-handed at 50 meters.

Nice pistols, Xav. Is the bottom one an Izzy? I've been looking at some on Larryguns.com, but they're all big $$$. I'll have to check out CDNN.

I did a Range Report today on the TOZ-46.

The lower pistol is indeed a IZH-46M. Around $299 from Pyramid Air.

The Ruger is a MKII Target Government. In addition to the comp, the internals are Volquartsen. It will group as well as the others, but there is a difference, especially with the TOZ.

You don't grasp the TOZ-35. It fits on your hand like a prosthetic device. It points like your finger, and you literally feel like you are pointing at the bullseye. The trigger is adjustable in any way you would want. I'm using the butterfly fart weight right now. You load it, point it, cock the trigger and then almost just think about touching it. Once I got the sights dialed in, it was a tack driver. Pretty amazing pistol.

Just make certain you follow the Four Rules in using it.

Here are better pictures of the Ruger and the IZH.

I'm in the market for a free pistol. The price quoted for cdnn is really very good.
Its a bit unnerving at first, holding down the trigger and setting the sear at the same time.
They're very satisfying to shoot. The recoil goes straight back. They're also very difficult to shoot because the sights bounce around so much without a lot of consistent practice.

We shoot free pistols in competition at A&M. They are pretty wild, but I think I still like standard.

Thanks for the heads up and review! Any free pistol for $499 is a steal.

Thanks to Xavier's enthusiastic writeup, I went ahead on and ordered one. It should be here today or tomorrow for me to pick up at the gunsmith. I hope the one I receive is in as good a condition as was Xavier's!

I had a BSA Martini with a similar action in it years ago, and should never have sold it. What a neat action. I just got bored with shooting prone all the time, and so it was sold. Not a day has gone by that I didn't wish I could get it back.

Sigh.

Great Target pistols not to forget they are fun and cheap to shoot. Wish they sold them in Pakistan.

Ahhhhh

I see....

"Free" as in "Free-Style Shooting"

Absolutely gorgeous pistols....Drool! smack! {frantically wiping off keyboard & monitor}

It arrived! It is absolutely unfired, new in box. Still has packing preservative on it. The box is little beat, but the pistol is outstanding. Looks to have been manufactured in 1989.

I have wanted one of these for many, many, years. I'll try to snap some photos soon and post them.

Xavier was right. This is a neat firearm.
