Howdy,

OK, given the current situation, I'm going to post this here and see how it goes. I have a brick of Winchester Small Pistol Magnum primers I got in an order from Midway. I could use them, but I know some people are really strapped for primers and I am not. The general consensus is that its fine to use magnum primers in place of standard primers, but if loading at or near max, one should reduce the charge by 5-10%. However, YMMV, make sure you know what you are doing and don't blame me if it doesn't work out, I'm trying to do people a favor here.

So, here is the deal. I've got 1000 primers. I'll give 200 of them to the first 5 people to respond to me via PM on THR who meet the following requirements:

1- You must be willing to pick them up in Roxboro, North Carolina. I don't care where you come from, but I'm not shipping or delivering them.

2- You must be a THR member with a join date at least one month old or have at least 100 posts.

3- You must be a handloader and plan to use the primers yourself. I want to know in the PM what you are going to load. I don't need the specifics, just what the plan is for the primers.

4- You must be either completely out, nearly out, or new to loading and not have ever had any SP primers. If you have 10,000 large pistol/large rifle/small rifle, but no small pistol and you have a need for small pistol, you qualify. However, if you have that many, you might consider doing the same thing with the size you have a ton of to help out other members.

Obviously I'm going to have to take peoples word on some of this stuff. I've always found THR to be a very civil and friendly forum, so that is what I plan to do. This is the only site I am posting this on. Once all the primers are spoken for, I'll post that information here.

I am hoping that other handloaders in other parts of the country follow suit on this. We are, after all, all friends here.

I hope the adage 'let no good deed go unpunished' does not apply here.
aways too far for me to travel, I have 2-300 sp's left yet also but replenishing doesn't look favorable anytime soon and nephews hollering for reloads.

That's a very kind gesture Landric, I'm close enough being west of you just off 77, but have more than enough of my own. Those needing them would be more deserving.
Kudos for caring.

That is a great thing you are doing. Wish you were closer though, but it will definitely help someone that needs it. It's nice to see that these days, especially when lots of us make a penny scream before spending it just to know that we got all we could out of it.

Like Hancock says, "Good job".

Wow. Teach those Gunbroker thieves a thing or two. This is very generous. Nice to still see that occasionally.

No thank you, my stock is good. Wonderful gesture. I'm sure you'll be rewarded in return.

Folks, just some extra info. I'm going to be in Raleigh on this coming Saturday evening and I'll be in Statesville the third weekend in May. Anyone who feels they are too far from Roxboro, but is willing to drive to either of those locations at those times, I would be happy to meet you. Food for thought.

A very nice offer.

Pitty it's a 4 hour one way drive

and there is no powder...

no bullets ...

and no 9MM dies for a Lee loader....

or I'd be all over that

Slowly collecting components to reload 45 Colt and 9mm .... someday.

Cool offer, but I bought 5,000 WLP primers over the counter locally ($29/1000), (for three people) a few weeks ago. I'm trading 1,000 CCI-200's for another 1,000 Fed LPP locally.

I'm certainly not GIVING any away.

Even for your offer, at that price, any more than one gallon of fuel spent to get that 200 primers, isn't really free.

Good luck. I hope you end up making a fellow shooter happy.

Cool idea Landric. I saw at least one other here following your lead. I'm impressed. Maybe the dude that has the wacko Lee loader up to $36.50 on evil bay will need to come see you.

I have 900 small magnum pistol primers. I can't give them away but I would be willing to trade for powder or bullets (or you could buy them for $35). I live in Madison Al. I can't use them and just want to get some of my money back to buy more stuff.

I'll be in Raleigh until about 10:30 tonight and I have 200 with me in case anyone who meets the requirements is interested.
