Freedom Arms 22 mag

I just picked up a freedom arms belt buckle that has a 4 shot 22 mag pistol on it. Near as I can tell it's never been fired.

Thing is, I'd like to know it actually works, but I don't know if I can hang onto its teeny grip good enough to shoot it? Anyone ever shot one?

Why did I buy it? 'Cause I wanted it, that's why.

I hate to use this word but: It was cute. It was still in its leather case, with all the original paperwork. It says freedom arms on it. Plus I never tire of reading thier address, kind of hits a nerve with me.

And yes it passes the "revolver check out".

I have a NAA mini.

Two, actually; The .22LR mini with the standard grips is so small as to require a "special technique" to manipulate effectively. I use two hands; the "trick" is to place the weak thumb at the rear of the grip frame. Then grip the revolver and weak thumb with the strong hand. This adds "reach" from the "backstrap" (thumb) to the trigger. Cup the weak hand's fingers around the firing hand (be SURE to keep them behinfd the muzzle of that extremely short barrel ). Sounds strange, but it permits cocking and firing of the little mini with the standard stocks.

Otherwise, oversized rubber and wood stocks are available for both the standard and magnum NAA minis; they're well worth the cost for shooting effectiveness, at a very slight loss of compactness.

Trouble is, on my 1-1/8" bbl LR model, they just look weird!

On my Black Widow .22WMR, on the other hand . . .

You just have the 2nd finger of the strong hand around the grip, right?

And it stays in your hand when you light it off?

Remember, mines the 22MRF, not 22LR.

The WMR has "lift-off"

fired out of the tiny-handled versions. Yep, only one finger will fit. Frankly, the "thumb-as-backstrap" grip gives my firing hand better purchase than trying to fire one-handed, on my .22LR NAA.

Freedom Arms doesn't manufacture these little rockets anymore (to my knowledge); they once produced the WMR in a 4" "Boot Pistol" configuration, with lengthened, square-butt stocks. Dunno where you could find a set, today (E-Bay, maybe?). Only other option is get some wood and whittle!

I have the NAA 22 Mag, it's a bit to lit off. However, I have never lost control of it. Not something that I want to shoot all day, but no bad.

However, if your's is unfired you may want to leave it that way.

Yes, they quit making them due to legal issues between them and NAA. Thats part of why I bought it.

I just wanted to know if you could actually shoot it without getting hurt.
(This from a guy who owns multiple 357's, 41's, 44's and a 454.
