Freedom Group Ethical Takeover Proposal

Urging funds to invest and "naming and shaming" those who won't? Weenies Pinko extertionism to pour money into something that doesn't sound like a capitalist for-profit venture of any kind!

I can't even... feh- sbelling breaking down..
Muh- * dumber just reading

>_< WHY?

So basically he proposes that they buy freedom group and try to implode the gun idustry? What an idiot!

Agreed. I couldn't even make it through that piece of trash. Some people really are too dumb to be allowed to speak/write publicly.

On the up side, even as rabidly anti-gun as Soros and pals are, I don't think any of them are about to throw away a quarter of a billion dollars to dismantle freedom group. Not to mention how unpopular the idea of deliberately and maliciously killing thousands of jobs would be right now.

I like it.
A bunch of lefties dump big sums of their money into an enterprise with the express purpose of losing money, leaving less for them to pursue their idiotic agenda.
What's not to like here?

It isn't like Freedom Group has done a great job managing Remington, Marlin et al. Their current products suck.

BFF? Really? Are we sure this isn't a humor piece.

BFF should appoint Angelina Jolie, Matt Damon and George Clooney as leadership?

BFF should pay whatever it takes to buy Freedom Group at an enormous profit to Cerberus?

Yeah, that's going to fly.

There are many more competing gun companies now than ever before based on the demand for firearms. If Freedom Group gets out of the business of making ARs the majority of buyers will continue to purchase from the other dozens of manufacturers. The idea of gutting Freedom Group as a way to change gun owner buying behavior is laughably ignorant of the facts.

Uh, that if they actually did this, some legendary names would vanish into obscurity. Oh, and tens of thousands of people out of work is never a good thing.
They're already on the way. And it would create room for companies interested in actually making good products to increase their sales, hiring displaced workers.
That said, it's one of the most absurd pieces I've ever read. I wasn't sure if it was satire. I'm still not.

I want freedom group out as much as anyone, but I don't want to see Remington and Marlin deliberately sunk in the process. Hard to hire those displaced workers back without a company...

Wait, I thought Cerebus was already owned by George Soros and was buying up gun companies just shut them down. Are you telling me the internet rumors aren't true?

No, man. Don't you get it? Rumors that started with Alex Jones are always more true than op-ed columns from clueless idiots on CNN.

I wonder if Ruger or FNH have the money or the interest in buying Freedom group.

Maybe FN could buy Bushmaster and DPMS, Ruger could by Remington and Marlin.

Some other business will step up to take it over; it won't be Remington or Marlin, but where's there is a profit to be made, someone will step in. The employees themselves ought to buy the business at bargain sale prices and then run it themselves.

Right now, I'm betting that Windham is glad that noone has connected them with Bushmaster yet.

The conspiracy theory (that someone will buy freedom group just to kill it) has been out for a while now....I hope it remains a theory.

Thats funny stuff right there.

He says "ethicial take over" and then goes on to call it a "Trojan Horse strategy"... aka "Lets trick them".

What a completely moronic article.

Whenever I hear "microstamping" as part of some part of gun control proposal, I know that we're dealing with someone who has no idea what they're talking about.

Even better when something like "discounts for people who go through a background check" is part of the business plan -- again, someone who is completely out of their depth on the subject.

(iii) Operates the business as if sensible gun laws were in place (this may turn out to be a wise investment in future-proofing the company): discontinuing sales of the most egregious assault weapons and modifying others as necessary so they cannot take huge-volume clips; offering to buy back all Freedom Group assault weapons in circulation; micro-stamping weapons for easy tracking; and providing price discounts for buyers willing to go through a background check and register in a database available to law enforcement.

It would have been better if John MacIntosh had just written, "they should buy up the gun companies and shut them down", because that would seem so less irresponsible and ignorant than what he actually proposes.

I certainly hope that anyone who looks to Mr MacIntosh for future investment or business advice takes this as an example of the wisdom which he uses when proposing a business venture.
