I hope we can get a good turnout at the Friends of NRA banquet at the Humble Civic Center on Thursday, August 9 this year. Italiano's will be catering the event, and the NRA's Wall of Guns will be there. Close to 20 guns and a bunch of other gear will be up for action and raffled off.

Please contact a me if you want to buy your tickets, or sponsor a table, in person, or a even better option for tickets is online at the following link.

Well I won't be in Texas any time soon but I go to the one we have here in Indianapolis every year. It is great fun. My boss get's a reserved table and last year the number two man in the company won a firearm in one of the raffles! Good fun, good cause, good food, good drink, a fair number of pretty women, way more than half of same which were attendees last year...all around a good event.

Anybody who hasn't been should give one a try.

Thanks HoosierQ for the bump and sentiment, and yes there will be a bit of eye candy there encouraging you guys to buy raffle tickets:p

Please post there when you buy your tickets, lets see if we can get enough to fill a table.

Few better causes and a great way to support it.

Come on guys this is a great cause, a good dinner and a chance to meet some like minded folks.

Lets show some support, only 9 days left until the banquet.

No calaverasslim we are in the north Houston area, just past the big Bush airport on Texas HWY 59.

Leave a bit early floorit76 we would love to see you.

Dreamliner787 I don't ever remember there being one there. I know people who have carried there in the past, hopefully they did legally, LOL.

I can't be by the civic center for a few days, but if it's important to you I will drive by there this weekend and check the entrances.

Let me know,

Thanks,

How much money do you usually recieve from ticket proceeds, games and auction at your event. I was treasurer for the Elko, NV (pop 20,000). We generally had proceeds in the 65K area with a 50% or so profit. We'd use the standard NRA merchandise package and then add maybe 15 additional firearms. Always excellent food and beverage. Event in Elko is Sat. 04 Aug 2012 so anyone near there, go. It is held in the Elko Covention Center.

Not real sure how we will do this year, but we are hoping to get 200 at the banquet. We don't make a lot on ticket sales with the meal eating up the majority, venue rental, security costs, printing costs, etc eating up the vast majority of the ticket price.

We also use the NRA merchandise pack and our regional FNRA rep does a great job getting us some really good stuff. Probably over 20 guns will be going to new homes next week.

Hopefully the NRA Wall of Guns will be as big a hit as it has at some gun shows. Great chance to win your choice of a gun.

The food will be good, I ate at the restaurant last week myself.

Would like to see some of you folks there.

Went by the Humble Convention Center today Dreamliner787, no posted signs regarding firearms of any kind.

You are good to go.

Ok guys, only a few days away..................

This past weekend we attend the Hill Country FNRA Banquet and it was really nice. Wife and I spent around $345 and walked away with a KelTec PMR30 22mag and an FN FNS40... Not a bad night at all. Wish I was going to be around Humble. Good Times.....

The Topeka, KS Banquet was last week. Unfortunatly a couple politicians who received poor ratings from from the NRA showed up. They made a big deal over how pro NRA they were. Took pictures of them buying raffle tickets which I am told were never turned into the hopper. Typical political kiss a baby crap. I hope your event does not suffer the same fate. Dinner didn't taste to good afterwards.

Thanks Dreamliner, I think I saw that come through this morning if your first two initials are RA.

jbkebert, fortunately we have some very good politicians in our area. Those that are nearby, and not for our cause, tend to stay in their own districts. We strive to keep politics out of it the best we can.

How did your fund raiser turn out?

Our local fund raiser was held over the weekend and sold out earlier in the week, we did very well for a small beef/ag community. :)

I think we did really well. Just a few shy of 200 attended, and the ladies did a fantastic job selling tickets. A few good deals were made, the community showed it's support, and if you left hungry it was your own fault.

Before selling our house in Elko, NV I was on the committee there for 12 or so years. Just talked with on the current committee members and the event they had on the first Sat. of Aug grossed over 110K. Not bad for a small town. We always did pretty well and went in with a lot of extra firearms and our Rep would pull his hair out over it. We'd tell him the NRA is about guns and if he did not like what we were doing he could go jump into the Humbolt. He was always pleased with the financial results when the money was counted.
