I have a Yost 1* enhanced Colt that is a fine shooting 1911, but I really do not like the lack of grip the FS & MSH serrations offer over nice checkering.

Is it practical / possible to weld up the FS serrations that could then be checkered, or would the weld job not checker well?

(and no I do not want 20 lpi checkering to match the serrations and yes I will call YB later this week to ask them...just looking to see if anyone has had this done)

Thanks

This is one of those jobs that comes under the heading "Yep, we can do that. Say just how much money DO ya have".

In other words, brace yourself for sticker shock because this is high order pistolsmithing and it's ALL hand work. That means high dollar.

EGW will weld in a checkered insert for $175.
I have not seen one in person, but the seams do not show in photos; it looks like the front strap was just checkered as usual.
