A buddy of mine gave me about 70 rounds of once fired brass for a Rem 700 rifle in 300 Win Mag that I bought from him.

I had already loaded up about 100 pieces of new Winchester brass, and another 50 in Remington brass, after trimming each of them to the same length. I went to trim the brass he gave me, and it was short - almost .015 inches less than the Hornady reloading manual gives as a trim length.

Will the short length hurt anything? It's all Frontier brass, so I'd welcome any opinions on the quality of brass. Who actually makes it? I heard that Frontier brass was made by Hornady, but I'm not sure if that's true or not?

Thanks, Neil

You heard the same as me, I got some in 7mm-08 and was told it is older brass before they started using their Hornady headstamp..

The brass being .015 shorter won't hurt anything. You'll be able to shoot it a few more times before it needs trimming.
