I'll be purchasing a gun safe in the near future and have almost made up my mind to get a Ft Knox safe.

I'm planning on getting the biggest one we can fit down the stairs as the bigger the better when it comes to toy storage.

How good are Ft Knox safe's compared to all the other ones on the market??

Pro's/Cons?????

My brother-in-law has one. I'm not sure the exact size of it but he has half setup with shelves for ammo/important papers/etc and the other half where he keeps all his rifles/shotguns. The half a safe with firearms holds far more than you would think by looking at it. It's four rows with the potential of about 6-7 guns on each row.

The thing is very heavy too. His stairs creek now everytime you walk down them because of the extra stress they were under when they initially took the safe in.

The only bad thing is the handle broke once and would just spin freely when trying to open it. He had to call Ft. Knox and some guy over the phone talked him through getting back in and they sent out the necessary parts to fix it -- so at least there was good CS when something did go wrong.

Ft Knox gun safes

I have a Ft Knox safe like the one described , with shelves in half, and I'm very happy with it. Mine is Fire proofed and has the door racks for hanging handguns and I think I got a pretty good deal on it. I bought mine right of a gunshow display, in the late afternoon of the last day, and I saved about 40% for taking the display model and hauling it away so they didn't have to take it back with them. They even helped me load it into my truck, but it took 5 friends to help me get it down into my basement. I feel much better now when I'm gone and I sleep better just knowing that its protecting most of my firearms. :D
