FTF with S&W 351PD

Went to the range today, not sure how many rounds I fired, but had several FTF's. I was using CCI Maxi Mag's, and I am thinking I didn't start having the problem til I used the CCI's I have some Winchester Super-X 40 gr JHP's, but forgot to take them to the range.

Anyone experience the same problem with CCI's?

It should work with any brand of .22 Mag you care to shoot in it.

Barring a bad lot of ammo, it might be the gun.

S&W seems to have had a rash of short firing pins in the center-fire J-Frames lately.

At least the last two times I was at Cabala's, somebody was returning / exchanging brand new guns for ones that hopefully will work.

Don't know if any of that carried over to the RF guns or not.

You might also clean under the extractor star, and inside the rim recesses with a toothbrush real good.

It might be that some unburned powder/fouling got in there and is holding the rims up enough to cushion the FP blow.

FTF with S&W 351PD

I have a 351PD but have not experienced any problems with CCI .22 WMR products...only Winchester's (case head separation due to double charged factory round-ouch!). I have CCI's in it now. Try it again with other manufacturer's products...Hornady and Remington have some plastic tipped wonders and then try a different batch of CCI's and see if the problem is universal. But in any case, give the revolver a thorough cleaning first.

Had a problem with the first round several times using Philippine ammo, but never with CCIs.
