full automatic airsoft help please!

I just purchased a couple single shot airsoft guns and these are fun! I havn't done any 'official' matches yet but im kind of liking what i see

Im very new to airsoft, does anybody know any good full automatic or semi-automatic ones with a high muzzle velocity, or have any experience with electric opposed to propane? It seems like electric would be a lot more convinient.

And is ebay one of the best places to buy these things at?

hmm the bottom link is busted and just sent me to a bunch od ads, and the top one seems to be a little hardcore for me they are showing reviews for airsoft guns that were "only" 250 dollars. I could buy a real gun for that much!

I was looking online and i see them for 50 and under. the AK-47 replica i see has a 225 FPS and AEG full-automatic. I didn't know if it would work as good as it sounds, because we all know ebay!

Boats, let someone shoot you in the face with an airsoft gun, you might change your mind about it's weapon status.

But seriously, I seem to recall the mods saying they really wouldn't care too much about Airsoft posts, provided they didn't get out of hand....

Technically airguns, Airsoft etc. can provide a certain amount of training so I think posts should be allowed.

Boats, in many places airsofts are considered weapons, it also depends on the FPS and how strong the spring is. And as mentioned it is a great training utility.

*edit: And also this board doesn't get as much traffic as other places, i doubt i am cluttering the place with 1 airsoft thread

So i know a lot of you all Airsoft, in fact since a few people mentioned it in the odd thread thats what perked my interest! Any body have any suggestions for a reasonably priced one? (im still leaning towards ebay but they are almost too cheap when compared with the other 'name brands')

Omni, as far as airsoft, I am a firm believer of "you get what you pay for." The field standard (at least a year ago when I played, probably still is) for AEGs were Tokyo Marui guns. As far as they go, to get started with them (Gun, battery, charger, spare mag) is going to be anywhere from $250 - $350, depending on which style you like and where you get it from. I ordered my M16VN with 2 small 190 round magazines, battery and charger, and total with shipping from Hong Kong was $303. Out of the box, TM guns all pretty much perform the same, about 280 fps--only difference is looks and how much room there is for upgrades (new motors, higher mAh batteries, different springs / gears, etc.)

As far as training goes, yes, it does help. I certainly learned how to do at least a modicum of suppressive fire and other low level squad tactics while playing 4v4 pickup games of Airsoft. I have no doubt that I would lose to a trained team, but at least I would have a small chance. (Go Wolverines!)

man with that much money i could buy the real version of the replica! lol, but maybe i will try the cheapo ak-47 ripoff from ebay. If it works for 20 minutes and i enjoy what i see maybe i can endulge and buy a better airsoft gun! Thanks for the help everybody!

One of the best AEGs to get started with is a MP5 (doesn't really matter which one), another is the P90. Both are relatively cheap and hassle-free, and the inventive can modify them extensively.

You could also try a Gas Blowback or GBB...

I have a Glock G27 replica and a single stack 1911 GI replica...

This is a weapons forum, and it's not going to turn into an airsoft one.

That said, lots of people I respect use them for training purposes.

A full auto airsoft

applied to the face of someone without a mask could do some serious damage and would definitely allow you to close the distance so you can use your contact weapon.

Airsoft definitely falls into the "Othere Weapons" category!
