First... I did a search and nothing came up. I promise.

Does anyone know anything about those full profile compensators that Thomas Jane's character had on his twin 1911's in the "Punisher" movie?

Are they real compensators, or the bushing type?

Where can I buy one? (or two?)

I've been looking since I bought the DVD about two years ago. Still can't find anything.

Bump.

And I'll be honest. I want a full profile compensator to make my 1911 look cool. It's not my CCW or my HD pistol, it's a safe queen. And I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting a handgun for the express purpose of it aethetic superiority and intrinsic coolness.

Found some comps for you:

Hope this gets you started. I know Mark Morris, Chuck Warner, Steve Woods, Wilson Combat, and whole bunch of others offered full profile comps back in the late 80s - early 90s, but that ain't "combat tactical" any more, and the modern comps are almost all 9mm/.38 Super. About 2 years back I bought a .45 that came with a second, comped barrel that I don't have a use for, but I didn't see it in the closet on my first look around. I may not have moved it, I dunno. Regardless, if you want a good compensator reference, Simpson's The Custom Government Model Pistol is a good place to look.

I bought a Officer acp with one like the king installed What a waste of money . A nice Compact pistol ruined by It looks cool. Iam tracking down parts to return to orginal.
I fired 4 rounds at night and couldn't see a thing. .
I need a Colt Officer barrel in good shape any one have one Colt doesn't.

And I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting a handgun for the express purpose of it aethetic superiority and intrinsic coolness.

Aesthetic superiority and intrinsic coolness are good. I don't have the money for that kind of visual appeal, but there's no telling where I'd stop if I did. :)

Seriously, you might consider a .460 Rowland -

http://www.clarkcustomguns.com/rowland.htm

These don't have the full profile look from "The Punisher", but they are functional, and disassembly isn't compromised.

(Also, if you are a "Punisher" fan, his dad said he'd "...bored the chambers", and that's what the .460 Rowland is -- a bored-out .45 ACP.)

You might say this provides aesthetic superiority, intrinsic coolness, and drop-dead performance. Or you might not...

but they do look cool.

Don't know what type they are.

One of my partners impounded a Charles Daly 1911 a few weeks ago that had a similar comp on the front of it. I have no information about it what so ever but I know they are out there.

EDIT...It looked very much like the Kings one linked up higher on the page, but didnt have a front sight on the comp.
