kjeff50cal, is that gun parked? That's a good looking piece. Not a fan of rubber grips, but it's still good looking.

Yes it is and the guy who did it did not inpair the silky smooth action one wit. The double action pull hovers around 7 lbs and the single action at 2 lbs.

I was wondering if anyone has or knows of someone who has a speed six/security six Ruger in a 9MM caliber. I'm looking to buy one barrel lenth not important condition must be at least good or better. If you have some info please email me with same at [email protected]... Thank-you so very much for any help you can give me Larry

Thanks so much for the replies and votes, everyone!

I went to the range today (always a fun time) and got some time in with my Ruger SP101 and my Glock 21. I have to say, with the new Hogue grips on the SP101, even shooting CorBon .357 Magnums were fun! :evil: I actually shot the gun very well and I am again impressed with this little bundle of firepower.

Now, the dilemma is that I shot my Glock spectacularly. I think it found this thread and realized it might be getting replaced and is making it hard on me! I really am continually surprised at how easy the .45ACP round is to shoot. Perhaps I will have to find myself a revolver in this caliber instead of a .44. I really just don't know. That new Redhawk is just calling my name, even though I know the most logical choice would be to just get a GP100 and share ammo with my SP101.

Ahh, decisions! :p

I have, in .357 magnum a 4" 686 and a 5" 627PC;

In .44 magnum I have a 629, 6-1/2" Classic, a 629 Light Hunter and a 327PD.

Of those, the 327PD takes first place because:

-It is lighter than any of the others, and carries easier.

-The .44 magnum can do anything the .357 magnum can, plus a lot more, if needed.

I think a revolver in .357 is an ideal bedside table/home defense handgun. For target shooting a longer barrel than 4 inches is more desireable.

My answer was to get a s&w 627 - .357, 5inch barrel and 8 shots :evil:

As you already have a .38/.357 go for the .44. .44 Special is an excellent choice for home self defense and there are a good number of commercial loads available for it. Excellent round, very shootable.
