Fun With Critters

Oh, yeah, one evening near dark I was adjusting the laser on an SKS carbine with the iron sights without actually firing, just trying to get it close to POA. The laser was on as it pointed into the grass about 30 yards from where I was sitting. A barred owl came flying out of a tree and attacked the laser at which I turned it off. Confused, the owl sat back on another limb. I turned the laser on and he attacked it again! That was more fun than playing with the cat. ROFL

My story is tame compared to the humor of some of you. My only "close encounter" was with a squirrel. I was bowhunting and standing in the crook of a tree about ten feet off the ground. That crook was perfectly shaped and if I shifted around just right extremely comfortable to stand there for hours. I was watching a squirrel playing around in adjacent trees. I lost sight of him, then realized he was in my tree. He rounded the trunk right at eye level. He had an almost human expression on his face, you could see the wheels turning, trying to figure out what I was. I laughed and he promptly jumped right out of the tree to the ground and took off.
