Hello all,

I am going to be buying an AR in the next 2 months. I was wondering what suggestions you guys have.

Some of the features im looking for are:
-16-18in barrel
-free floated hand guard with a rail on the 12 but without rails on the 3 6 and 9 but having the ability to place them on if necessary.
-DI system
-come prebuilt ( I thought about building an AR but would just like to buy one off the rack)

Right now my plans are to use it for plinking, training classes and the occassional romp into 3 gun. I have a budget of 2 grand with optics plus or minus 2-3 hundred dollars.

Also sub MOA groups aren't necessary , I just want to have minute of pie plate.

Thanks in advanced.

The closest thing to your requirements that I can think of in a factory out of the box rifle is the Daniel Defense M4V7.

Thanks for the options fellas. The daniel defense looks like a nice option. The Spikes Tactical options are nice but I dont need all of that rail system.

Also looking around Rifle Gear I saw the stag arms 3G rifle. I like the fact that it come with a long forend, 18in barrel with a comp and also a geissele trigger. Have you guys heard anything of this rifle or have personal experience with it.

Thanks again fellas.

I recently purchased a Stag model 4L. I find it to be a well made rifle with a good trigger. I went for the model 4 because I wanted the 20" heavy barrel for longer range target shooting. Left handed because I'm a southpaw, sure is nice, I haven't had a left hand rifle since I bought my Savage 110L in 1968. The Stag 4 shoots nice groups at 100 yds. I've only shot it with the peep site so far haven't gotten any optics for it yet. I put 200 rounds through it in two sessions and haven't had a single hiccup. Overall quality looks good to me when the weather gets a bit warmer I'll see what it can do with a scope and longer range targets.
