FYI TO FFL/SOT's and transferees........

ATF is supposed to email both transferor (your dealer) and transferee (the buyer) when they approve an eForm 4. I've had four eForms get approved in the last month where this was not done.

A dealer can go to his ATF eForms account and view approved Form 4's. It will allow him to print out your eForm or save to his computer and email that .pdf to you.

So..........if its been more than eight months, you can call NFA Division and they will tell you the current status of your Form. If its "pending" it means its not approved, say Thanks and hang up. That clerk can't tell you anything else. Before you call you'll need the serial# of the firearm and the name of the transferee.

If it's "approved" and you never received the emailed .pdf, then contact your dealer. Only he can see the approved Form 4 in his eForms account.

If your Form 4 wait is on month three, don't be that guy and start calling ATF every week. That doesn't help, doesn't speed up the process and causes longer phone wait times.

I took it that you were saying only the dealer was getting the approval……
My misunderstanding of what you were saying…..
What's supposed to happen is both dealer and customer get an approval email.
Sometimes only the dealer gets it.
Sometimes only the customer gets it.
Sometimes no one gets it.:cuss:

That's a pretty important bug to fix, I would think. Especially with your money and Item held hostage.

Ok, thanks.
Now what is this live in person certification step at your transferor where you have to log into your account and on camera watch a bot where an ATF agent ," may or may not come on line live and ask questions" ? For two suppressors that I thought I finished the process two months ago I was called by the FFL to come in for this additional step and it was called a certification of the E form 4 I submitted two months before and paid all fees andd received an account number and pin. Worse I had to go thru this process twice , once for each suppressor, taking several hours at the FFL. I never had this step with the old paper form four transfer.
So what is this about ?

Ok, thanks.

Huh? Who told you that?o_O

So what is this about ?
"Certification" is the transferee and transferor verifying that all the information on the eForm 4 is true and correct. The buyer (transferee) registers at atfonline.gov, creates a password and PIN#, ATF gives the buyer a username. The username and PIN is used to electronically sign or "certify" your eForm 4. The dealer (transferor) enters his PIN and ATF should automatically send both of you a payment confirmation email and a "Submitted/In Process" email. If you didn;t get that confirmation, you din't successfully submit.

If you had to do it twice its because the first time wasn't successful.

You didn't have this step with paper Form 4's because you used an ink pen to sign your name.;)

Thank you sir. I had to do it twice as there are two suppressor submitted. I can't redact the email , with official looking background for me to make the " certification" at the member FFL' place to do this, yes I and the FfL had to view a bot on a screen after we both signed in via a pin.No ATF agent interaction as far as we could tell. I submitted my form and $200 to this FFL in April and over a month later got the notification, which left me rather shocked. Yes they did send the payment notification via email.
Before using his kiosk it was a one visit deal. I now see the ATF demanded in person " certification" of eform 4 I already submitted as Kiosk had all my info already. I just used it for the brace amnesty and did not have a " certification" meeting.
