G-43 price check...

Hi all,

A shop in my neck of the woods has a G-43 with a scope. They want $4200.00 for it. I think that is high, do any of you own a Gewehr 43? What do I need look for to check if all the parts are true German pieces...I don't think that this rifle is ALL authentic, its in too good of shape...

I wouldn't mind trying to haggle with these guys because the rifle has been there for a few months but I want to be more informed about the authentisity qualifications of the rifle.

A little steep but you need to see who made it and do all the parts match etc. Scope mounts can be repos so can stocks.

Had 3 at one time now down to two and a G41(w). They "can" look new as there are still a few that were taken from the factory sent home and never touched again...

Odds are the parts are authentic. No one has made repors of the G-43, as far as I know, and there are only a few new made repalcement parts available and you have to hunt to find those. If someone did fake it, you aren't going to know enough to spot the fake anyway, to be brutally honest.

The price is probably not out of line. Those have been going up in price the last few years. It could just be a nice rifle that someone brought home from the war and then never shot much.
