Hello all. G-Raptor here.
First off, congratulations on getting the new board up. I received an invitation to come join the party - couldn't resist. Thanks.
I've been a regular on Glocktalk for a while and a lurker on TFL off and on. It appears that TFL is going dormant and this has become the new home of the TFL faithful and some members of the GT crowd. This could get interesting.
Due to some new access limitations and time constraints, I doubt that my posts will be as prolific as in my earlier days on GT, but I'll try to sneak a word in edgewise on a regular basis. I'll continue to post on GT, so if there is overlap in the discussion I'll just post a link, if you don't mind.
By way of introduction, to those who haven't spent time on GT, I typically identify myself as a B.A.C. (Black Armed Conservative).
Black by birth,
Armed on principle,
Conservative through logical analysis.
Note, that's conservative in the "constitutional" sense, not the "radical right" the media often refers to.
Philosophically and politically, I believe that this county has reached the social/political "triple point". In chemistry, the triple point is a combination of heat and pressure where a substance (i.e. water) can be either a solid, liquid, or gas. A small change in either heat or pressure will determine which of the three phases will dominate.
I believe that our political system now stands at the triple point of "totalitarian state", "free society", and "balkanization". The phase-change is likely to occur within the next generation. When it does, as in chemistry, it will be swift.
The preferred state should be obvious to everyone here, and it will be through our efforts and the efforts of people like us that the goal is achieved. That is not to say that it will be easy. But we must all continue to apply "heat and pressure" to insure that we move in the right direction. Free discussion on boards like this is critical in that regard. In the words of Ben Franklin, "We must hang together, or we will surely hang separately".
I'd also like to give a personal thanks to Oleg. He is definitely "out front" and has an impact greater than he may be aware of. His words and art are now ubiquitous on the web, as they should be. His "self-defense" site was an eye opener for me a couple of years ago, and helped me on the road to becoming the "radical gun-nut" that I am today.
So, thanks again for the invite. I look forward to the discussion. To quote a more contemporary hero - "Let's Roll!".
