I was going to get a 12-round factory mag for my G26 but the gent at the Corner GS suggested ... Instead of spending $32. for a new factory magazine, he was going to be getting in some more Pearce Grip Extensions within the next 8-days that will add 3-rounds to my 10-round factory mags and they are only $10. ech!!

Questions:

1. are these compatible with the 10-round factory magazine springs and shell

2. and if so how reliable are they

3. or should I spend the extra $22. and get the factory 12-rounders

Since I already have a 19-round and a 15-round backup if I need it, I don't necessarily care about having another ... 5 magazines ... the two 10-rounds that came with it and the two higher capacities I bought. I would just like to add an extra couple rounds to my EDC-CCW. But if reliability is an issue using the Pearce Grip Extensions then I'll get the factory 12-rounder. Unless you folks can suggest another brand extension or any other options??

Nothing against Pearce, but I don't want anything in my Glock that doesn't say GLOCK on it. That way I know beyond doubt it's reliable. My factoru 12 rounders have been 100%.

The couple of Pierce extensions I tried, never gave me the +2 they were supposed to, and they pinched the crap out of my hands while shooting, and especially during reloads. They also made the gun bigger, which sort of defeats the whole point.

I just use my 17 mags for the reload and keep a 26 mag in the gun.

I have the Pearce +3 on my G26

The work just fine. I have 5 of them and have never experienced a failure or problem of any kind. Most difficult task was getting the stock base plate off the factory mag. They are on there very tight and require a good deal of force to remove.

I have a factory Glock 12 rd and a factory Glock 10 rd with a Pierce +2 extension. Both have been 100% reliable. The funny thing is that the Pierce extension replicates the finger grip pattern of the G26 and looks like a natural part of the gun while the factory 12rd is simply smooth plastic.

The Pierce extension looks much more "factory like" than the factory Glock mag! If that makes any sense at all...

A G26 with mag extension means you are carrying a G19 sized grip.....it kills the advantage of the G26 which is it's small size.

Try the GAP floorplate on the ten round G26 mag and just carry a 15 or 17 round mag for backup.

A G26 with a plus 2 mag or extension defeats absolutely nothing. It is an option to carry two more rounds and you gain a slight bit more control. It is still smaller than a G19 with the extension. Depending on the carry method, it makes no difference in concealability at all.

A G26 gives options. You can't make a G17 or 19 smaller, but you can make a G26 bigger quite easily. How does an option for a versatile carry weapon kill its advantage? I always thought that choices were good...

I have many thousands of rounds through a G26, at least half were fed through a +2 mag of the Glock of Pierce variety. I cant say I have a preference for either, but the Pierce looks nicer on the gun. This pistol has yet to jam so I guess these mags do not cause feeding issues.

I purchased a Glock extended mag for my G26, and then two Pearce +2 extensions. Honestly the Glock +2 extended mag for the G26 pinches me more often than the Pearce, which has been 'none' after about 1,250 rounds or so through it. No jams, not one single FTF, perfect with every trigger pull. It may not be the prettiest gun out there, but it works like a sewing machine.

A minor issue was that the Glock extended mag is smooth where the pinky rests and the Pearce has the same texture as the rest of the grip, which definitely feels more 'grippy'.

I'll second getting the factory baseplates off being a royal pain. Now that I know how they're attached, it probably wouldn't be so bad, but that first time, oy.

And definitely the +2 mag not hurting concealability at all as well. I'm an average sized Joe and the G26 disappears in my waistband. When wearing tucked in shirts with a Smartcarry holster, it's impossible to tell it's there. I've got a simple Galco IWB leather holster that also works well with t-shirts and the like.

But yeah, never would have paid $30 for that Glock extended mag had I known about the Pearce +2 extensions.

I have Glock +2's on 2 of my 3 G26 mags. They perform very well amd make the pistol grip just long enough for my large hands. The G26 with the +2 bases is still smaller than a G19, and the shorter barrel of the G26 makes concealment a breeze.

It does defeat the purpose of the smaller gun if it makes it bigger, which it does. The whole point of the 26 is to be smaller than the 17 or 19.

I could never get the second round in either of mine either, so it was more like a +1. Even the +1 was hard to get into the mag, and I was always wondering if there were going to be function issues even with that, though there werent. Still, I never got that second round in there, ever.

After trying them for awhile, and then without them, I found I could shoot the 26 fine without them, and even better knowing I wasnt likely to get pinched at any moment. Once you get used to wrapping that pinky under the gun, you soon get over it, and you'll find you can shoot it as well, and even maybe better than the bigger guns. Control isnt an issue at all.

I carry my 26's in an ankle holster as a back up mostly, but also under a shirt "appendix" style at times as well. In those cases, the gun does hide much better without the extensions.

I use G19 magazines with fillers on my G26 and don't feel defeated in the least but I also have very large hands and the standard grip of the G26 is simply too small for my hand..

Thank You all whom have been opinionated on my question ;)

Some have tried them and liked them some have gone with Glock 12-rounders and liked them because they were original equipment and some tried both and liked the Pearce Mag Grips because they didn't seem to bite.

Out of 10 reply's I guess 5 liked them, 2 didn't, and IMO it seemed 3 had no real opinion ??

So instead of spending $32. on the Glock mag I'll give the Pearce a try for $10. and spend the $22. on a box of boolits for now ... If I like them it's a good thing and if not I can always try to sell them to someone at a GS and recuperate some of my money

I'm agreeing with the idea of keeping it Glock in my Glock. For me the Pearce extensions pinch and the Glocks don't you may have different results. I'd rather have the factory do the work on putting extensions on the magazine and the reason they cost more is you get another magazine, not just an extension. If you do the math the extra money is the cost of a magazine. There have been cases where extensions have came apart and dumped the rounds on the ground, this is true of Glock extensions and Pearce, I could be wrong but I think its installation. Another reason to go factory. I've got GAPs, +2s and G17 Magazines with adapters. Its part of what makes a G26 so adaptable. I can go small or go big.

In my experience, Pearce magazine extensions are excellent. I've used the +0 Pearce extensions on all 12 of my G26 magazines since I bought the gun 4 years ago. Lots of ammo and daily pocket carry since then and the Pearce grips are still doing their job perfectly.

Like Onmilo, I have large hands and need a place to put my pinkie finger when shooting the G26. I don't really need extra magazine capacity in a pocket pistol. The Pearce +0 extensions are perfect for my needs and don't increase the length of the grip enough to notice. I also use sleeves on G19 magazines in the G26. When concealment is not a priority, I like the longer grip length with the G19 mags.

By the way, if you hate removing the Glock magazine baseplates, Google up GTUL. You can do without the brush that comes in one of the kits, but a rubber GTUL with a Glock armorer's tool can effortlessly disassemble a Glock magazine in a heartbeat.

If you place the base plate / extension back on there properly, there's no way in hell it can come off. If you don't pay attention to what you're doing and don't put it back on with the lips of the extension / base plate in the right spot, yes, that could happen.

But if you don't pay attention to what you're doing, perhaps firearm ownership is not the best choice for you. Seriously, the Glock is a very simple to assemble / disassemble firearm. If you screw up putting just the mag back together... Well... Time to put the gun up for sale before you have an accident and put a round through any portion of your anatomy.

i have a supposed +2 Pierce extentio9n on my G27, mainly for a better grip. Orig mags are 9rds, with the said +2 I can still only really get +1 equalling 10rds..

But it's cheap/fast/easy, makes shooting a little easier, doesn't affect concealment IWB

Ill second the GTUL tool. Makes getting them apart a lot easier.

sure, if you never go anywhere, and never bump anything.

Well, I put the base plate back on by accident, then tried to remove it with a screw driver blade and more force than I can imagine encountering in daily life short of placing the mag in a vise and hanging from it, and that failed, so it'd have to be a car bumping into you at 80 mph type bump.

Are we talking about the same Glock factory mags here? I mean, the ones I have, you could throw 'em on a concrete floor, loaded and not, and I don't think it's going to pop off.
