I just visited my hometown's new Gander Mountain since I'm home on leave. I thought I'd let you know what the sign said at the door: (approx)
Rifles and bows that will be seen by the gunsmith and bowsmith (?) have to be cased, unloaded, and checked in at the customer service counter. This does not apply to our concealed carry customers.

Awesome :)

Gander Mountain, Huntsville, AL.

Same in Texas. They even host CCW classes. Only issue is their prices use to be good to OK and are now CRAZY high.

I've priced a few guns at my Gander here in Texas, they are about 10% to 15% higher than anyone.

Walked into Gander Mountain - Lake Mary, Fl after thanksgiving day dinner.
I always look at only used guns. New guns way to high at GM.

Lo and behold, East German Makarov in excellent condition I would say 99% with no bluing missing.
Marked $199.99 + Florida sales tax
Done deal out the door in 15 mins w/EG.

Oh yea $199. less 5% if you open a GM credit card, I opened a GM credit card and of course charged the Mak.

This gun in this condition sells right now for about $300.00 on the open market.
I guess GM screws up now and then, this time in my favor.

Sorry for the yucky pix. Gun looks much better.

They have that sign on the door here as well, or they did last time I was paying attention. Not that it matters, of course.

I've been in GM many times, but always buy elsewhere for less.
Almost bought a Sigma there last month on sale, but they insisted on playing dumb about the $50 factory rebate.
Every dealer that does smithing has much higher gun prices around here.

They have the same sign at the Cabela's in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Funny thing is that there is no legal concealed carry in Illinois anyway - it must be a sign sent down from corporate.

Gander Mountain sometimes has good prices on used guns - I got a perfect Like New (probably shot once) S&W 3913TSW w/ rail and tritium sights for $379 and a perfect Like New (probably never shot) SIG 232 for $329 from them . However, sometimes their prices are very bad - this summer I saw them price a used H&K P7M8 for $1599, when there was a glut of them because a German police agency had sold off a bunch and everyone else was selling them for $899 or so. The rule of thumb is take the good deals and leave the bad ones, simple as that.

I took my CCW class at a Gander Mtn and they do welcome the carry crowd.

I didn't unload my bow before the bowsmith repaired it.;):D:neener:
