Security guard made a head shot under the pressure of a gun battle! I turned down a job at the same project because they only pay 12$ an hour.

Shootout kills one in San Francisco
(01-23) 19:11 PST -- One person has died this evening after a shootout in San Francisco, and police report they're on the lookout for one of the suspects involved.

Police spokesman Dewayne Tully said more than 20 shots were fired during the shootout between two men at Broderick and Sutter streets that began at around 4:50 p.m.

However, Tully said a security guard at the nearby Westside Housing Project actually fired the fatal shot. According to Tully, the guard came outside to investigate the gunfire he'd heard, and then saw man allegedly point a gun at him. The guard then fired his own weapon at the suspect, critically wounding the suspect in the head. :D
The victim died at San Francisco General Hospital shortly thereafter, Tully said.

Tully said the second suspect in the shootout was last seen running northbound on Broderick, away from Sutter street, holding his stomach and bleeding from the mouth.

That suspect is described as an African-American man in his 20s, light skinned, wearing unusually long white shirt that went to his knees, and black pants.

Police are unsure of the suspect's current location, Tully said.

No charges have been filed against security guard, and Tully said the ongoing investigation into the incident will likely find the fatal shooting to have been a case of self defense.

Tully said the Western Addition neighborhood, the location of tonight's shootout, has historically been a high crime area where a lot of shootings occur.

I'm content to stay away from the Western Addition.

Kudos to the security guard! :D

Wait, this article isn't focusing on the fact that the bad guys were carrying guns without CCW permits! How can they do that? That's not LEGAL!

That just can't be true: the People's Republic of California has umpty-dozen laws to protect the sheeple from law breakers.

I'm surprised that someone didn't bring up the idea that the dead "gang guy" may not have simply been some innocent citizen that was defending himself against a real "gang guy". He may have thought the security guard was another "gang guy" and turned his gun towards him.

Oh, wait! That would have only been brought up if it wasn't a security guard that shot the "gang guy" but was a cop instead.

We came.
We saw.
And then....

That Security Guard has earned my respect. Kudos to him for doing a darn tooting job of self defense.
