Garand vs SKS

This is America, get both!

I only have an SKS, but I would love a Garand. However, considering you rarely find an M1 under $1k outside the CMP, price is most deficient a prohibiting factor.

If I could only have one, I'd take the Garand. That being said, I's still like to own one at some point, and I'll still have the SKS too.

I don't really sell guns, unless they really suck, or I want to upgrade them to something better.
I already have all the com-bloc rifles I want....

I started this thread right before the world went completely crazy with Covid. Bought that SKS from Classic for $299, and in hindsight it was a good move. They’re back up to $400-600 anywhere you can find one. I’ve had it out a couple of times and it’s a lot of fun. Didn’t end up getting a Garand ...yet. But it’s still on the short list! Too many guns, too little money. I’m sure I’m not the only one familiar with that conundrum!

Paid 150 years back for a numbers matching Romanian SKS (sans cleaning kit) with zero import markings. Untold 1000s of steel case rounds though it and it just keeps making silver dollar groups at 50yds with iron sights.

Always wanted a Garand, but never had the extra cash and the itch at the same time.

I fired lots through Garands with my Army Reserve unit, that's what we had. Also fired lots of ammo through my $100 new Norinco SKS.

Garands are nice but pricier ammo, more recoil.

I'd prefer the SKS. I have a US Carbine, so I'm covered historically. lol
