I dont know what you mean by "cylinder bearing" but if you are asking about the power stroke area I beleive specs are .528" min. and .530" max. diameter
To measured accuratly you need the proper ordnace gage. There are some PIN gages but not as accurate as the ordnance gage
On an M1 the barrel bearing is the area where the gas port is. If that is too small, or the gas cylinder is oversize, there could be enough gas leakage to affect functioning. Per Kuhnhausen, the spec diameter is .6000" - .0007" or .5993" to .6000".
The .528" + .002" figure is the power stroke area ID of the gas cylinder.
Orlando, jim k thx for the info,i had ordered a"6n1" guage from brownells and it has guage for the bearing and it measures .5970 and after posting my question,i finally found info on garand gear.com and their claim is the minimum diameter is .5991 - maximum .6000 -.7000 but my rifle functions flawlessly and I rarely remove the cylinder,so after having said that, if it functions fine then it must be in spec.again thx for taking the time to send me the info.
