Gave My 686 Some TLC

Spent some time last night with my 686 and some Mothers mag wheel cleaner & polish. I just rubbed a little on and then buffed it off by hand to remove oxidation and light handling marks. I alsi used some MinWax paste wax on the grips. It turned out nicely.

Mothers mag is great stuff. My old man has sworn by it for years. My first car was a 77 Camaro with solid aluminum rims. I went through cans of it.

I use it on my stainless guns too. I polished up a sp101 with some with similar results.

I love Mothers Mag. Smells great. Easy to over do though. I knew I over did my 686 when I could see myself in the barrel. From satin SS to a mirror. Great stuff though, and one jar lasts forever.

Lookin' good there! A friend of mine did the ultimate polish job on this Ruger Vaquero, using Mother's Mag Polish, while both my S&W Model 649 and my Model 686 could use some more work (it's been awhile). Very therapeutic to do and you can get the guns looking like they're nickel plated!
