I was recently looking at Gunbroker and after I signed in there were a bunch of annoying ads in the page, even in the search lists it would return for a given product. I emailed to let them know that I really didn't like the new ads, which I don't. To me they really are distracting, sort of like if someone put a billboard next to my TV in my living room. Take a moment if you also don't like these ads and let them know, won't you? If you don't mind them then by all means disregard. And I don't mean to take any business from the site. I just wish it was a little less distracting.

That entire website could learn a thing or two (or three...or a THOUSAND) from eBay when it comes to usability. I don't mind ads that much as long as the site is intuitive.

I've been having problems getting off the home page. The search feature doesn't search anymore.

Overall I think some of the features of the new search interface work well (the side bare allowing more precise filtering being chief among those), but I have had some issues with the site bugging out and such.

Once last week I had an issue where a search wouldn't initiate from within Chrome. I had to open Firefox instead and use that for a while. That's now resolved, but it's just signs of some kinks in the programming to be worked out.

Overall though I agree - from a usability standpoint they do need to change some things. The new ads are certainly a bit of an annoyance. I also have always hated that when sorting by a certain criteria (say, price) the "featured" ads were always first, but there was no way to know on what page those ended.

Overpriced stuff and praying on the uninformed with a new look.
I've bought 6 guns from GunBroker and gotten very good deals on all of them. I also don't think of myself as uninformed, particularly in regards to SIGs. :) However, I will have to agree that there are a LOT of very optimistic sellers on there.

In regards to the ads, I also find them very annoying. I have never sold anything on GunBroker so I don't know what the cost structure is, but if the ads help keep the selling costs down, then I can live with them.

I have also had problems with the new search function. It took me a while to limit my search to a certain category so that I could save it.

If you use Google Chrome, you can install AdBlock to remove all the ads. It works on all web sites.

+1 on AdBlock. Makes the web alot better. I use it with firefox.

Never knew GB had any ads.
