I was recently in need of a holster for my new glock 19. My sr9c supertuck wasn't really hacking it but it was a good temporary solution. While I like the crossbreed, I wanted something different and that hopefully didn't have a horrible wait time. I almost ended up getting a comptac so I could have a modular holster system for all my pistols, but I kept getting drawn to a new carry method and holster.
Enter the gcode incog and appendix carry. Thank youtube for turning me on to these two options. Specifically, Range time with Corey and Erika. After I got over the initial manly "heck no" about having a gun pointed at my...gun, I decided to go for it. Four weeks later I got my holster.
My first impression was that this holster is a lot smaller than my supertuck, but still very secure and comfortable. Its virtually a piece of kydex with clips bolted on. The clips are bent outwards a little and the website said this helps push the gun more towards your body. I don't think it sits any closer than normal clips, but they are sturdy and do their job. It retains the gun very well and has a fast smooth draw.
Putting the incog holster on is especially easy as well. I realized I don't have to wear over large pants for appendix carry. As the youtube videos said, the front of your pants usually has a little more room than at your hip so it slides in a little easier. The belt doesn't have to be super tight either. A little bit of movement I found is good and keeps it comfortable when moving or sitting down.
I'm 5'10" and 193ish pounds. I've got the slightest of a stomach and the gun doesn't print when wearing a normal fitting shirt. So guys with a little extra don't be afraid to try appendix carry. You can make it work.
Overall here are my pro's and cons.
Pro's:
-very easy to get on and off
-very comfortable moving around all day
-faster draw (for me)
-can be worn appendix or 3/4 o'clock
-extra mag holder can be bolted to it. I've found the holster already makes room for this due to the way my pants wrap around it and the room it takes up.
-don't have to wear oversize clothes (hello old wardrobe I had forgotten about)
-tactical fuzz coating adds extra stability
-decent price
-Don't have to worry about shirt pulling up due to location
Con's:
-long periods of sitting can lead to the gun jabbing my stomach/belly button (I suggest the longer clips for a deeper carry to prevent this. Wish I had gotten them)
-getting over the initial thought of losing your manhood during a ND
-Deep bending or awkward movements can cause the gun to jab you.
Overall I love this holster. It can be accessed by either hand, conceals extremely well, wasn't overly expensive, has upgradable options (clips and mag carrier), some initial customization is available when ordering, and it can be work all over your belt comfortably and effectively. Highly recommended.
