Since Rep. Bearden and the other House members of the committee were unable to reach the Senate members, despite repeated attempts, they decided to just set a time for the first conference committee meeting for HB89. As amended by the House, the bill would eliminate many of the egregious "Public Gathering" restrictions on the lawful carriage of firearms. The Senate version doesn't include such language; in fact, the Senate's unofficial position seems to be "our way or nothing." Yet they have the (round male body parts) to claim that it's the House that doesn't want to negotiate!
Anyways, please get on the horn with and write your state Senator and with Senators Eric Johnson, Don Balfour, Ronnie Chance, and Joseph Carter. Also call and write to Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle, and Governor Perdue. Heck, even if you aren't from Georgia, feel free to throw in your two dollar bills (stupid inflation...) on the issue
