I am going to Georgia this weekend. I have a Florida permit. I am wondering which places are off limits to carry in GA. I looked on several sites, and they say that public gatherings are off limits. I thought I remembered reading somewhere that was no longer true. Can anyone here point me to the current GA carry restrictions?

Probably like here in TN. The dogs have been kicked and the bites have been made, and now it might take a phone book to list where you can and cannot CCW in GA. I think, if you are on GA state property then you can assume reciprocity. But, if you are on private, city, or county property or jurisdictions thereof, well, who knows? I think there were a few counties in GA that required carry a while back to drive down the crime rate. You can probably expect reciprocity coverage there.

No carry at public gatherings is still on the books. It is a vague requirement that can be open to interpretation that needs to be changed. Just do not show up at a sporting event, church, schools, concerts or any other gathering of people. Carrying in stores, restaruants, etc. should not be a problem

There were several changes made to the laws about a year ago and you can now carry into a business that sells alcohol as long as you do not drink. Carry in state parks and WMA's is now legal with a permit.

It's hunting season (deer), primitive weapons. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought you had to leave your cartridge arms at home when going onto hunted land.

PRIMITIVE WEAPONS SEASON
Either Se x: Oct. 10–16; Statewide, except in archery-only counties
and in accordance with bag limits, county-wide antler restrictions
and other regulations. Primitive weapons hunters may not possess
any centerfire or rimfire firearm while hunting during the primitive
weapons season for deer, except that any person possessing a license
to carry a concealed firearm that is valid in this state pursuant to
OCGA §§ 16-11-126(f) or 16-11-129 may carry such firearm subject
to the limitations of OCGA §§ 16-11-126 and 16-11-127 except
where prohibited by federal law. Scopes may be used.
FIREARMS SEASON
See pages 18 and 19 for firearms deer season, dog deer seasons and

This is the new law according to the current regulations
