German k98 pricing help

Hello,
while on my travels this Thanksgiving, I stopped by a pawn shop. They had a Mauser k98 for 145 otd. The problem is that that stock was "sportized", after researching further, I believe it is just missing the barrel bands, hand guard , and bayonet lug(how expensive would it be to replace these parts). The crest has the eagle markings, and it has a dark bore. Given the stock, would you buy the Mauser, sadly I didn't take any pictures? Any ideas on value?

K98s are tough because there are so many refurbs and fakes out there.
There is a guy somewhere on these boards who claims to have once worked at an importer and personally stamped fake Nazi birds on mausers to sell them to some poor suckers. Can't remember who he is but the story stuck with me.

I would shop around for those missing parts and a replacement stock/handguard. If it is authentic it should still come in under $500 total after restoration, otherwise your time would be much better spent finding a nice unmolested gun.

I am no Mauser expert but I know that the originals were blued. If it is an RC (Russian Capture) gun it will be painted black and will not be worth restoring.

I got a repaired replacement stock, the metal and barrel bands/lug for less than $60.

You have to shop around but it's possible.

Definitely doable for $100...

last one. Receiver reads BCD 42, and a 749 under the eagle on the receiver. Barrel reads fn16/20 1941. Serial numbers on the receiver and barrel do not match. What can ya'll tell me about this Mixmaster? Also what would be a ballpark figure? Lastly, can this stock be saved or should I buy the one in the link?

Receiver made by Wilhelm-Gustloff-Werke, Weimar, 1942. FN in Belgium made a lot of Mauser 98 parts while occupied. The 1941 barrel date is an early one but common with this action, not a 'mixmaster' according to sources I found.
