I've heard enough on how i cannot get a handgun i want to my state. Would it be legal if i order the frame of a pistol to send postal and then order a slide setup for it?

Or do i really have to travel to PA or CT..

357isheaven, if you have a NYS pistol permit, you need to go through a NYS dealer in order to then register it on your permit. I would not rush off to PA to buy a firearm and then try and register it in NY (you may be breaking federal law as well as NYS law!!!). Personally I would call your counties pistol permit office and get their opinion PRIOR to trying to bring a pistol into NY.

1. The frame or receiver IS the firearm in almost every case.
2. Nonlicensees (you) cannot legally receive firearms by mail.
3. Federal law prohibits the sale of handguns to someone who is not a resident of the state where the purchase is being attempted.
4. If you were told you cannot get a certain handgun because of state law you might consider the consequences of pursuing that handgun.
