Getting buckshot?

I am sure we are aware of the spike in guns and ammo sales. I couldn't find any 00 buckshot anywhere until I went to a police supply store in town. They had a few 50 round boxes of Federal LE Tactical 00 buckshot. I bought two of them at 45 dollars each.

I'd order from Sportsman's Guide. Better selection than you'll find in any store, and good service. The UPS truck drops it at your door, no signature required. Get what you really want.

ditto SnarlinIron. Ammunition to Go has it in stock. Just ordered some, and they have a 9 day backlog on shipping, but it went out earlier anyway.

I picked up 30 rounds of Remington 3" 00bk at wally world today for about $23. They never seem to be out of buckshot or slugs, even now.

I second this...

I agree, this "gobbling" up of ammo is quite the ridiculous scene. Its unfortunate that ammo, along with many weapons, have become such a seemingly scarce commodity. Things have certainly changed for the worse over the past several months. Its a shame really....

I lucked out today, I actually found a store in Jefferson, OH that had 16 gauge buck! $3.99 for Remington, 4.99 for Federal.

1) order a stash on the internet

2) in the meantime, load it the largest upland game load, turkey load, or waterfowl load that you can shoot multiple times reliably

3) if you want to flame me, refer to OP's situation and remember that he doesn't have buckshot and might have to rely on something else right now

4) flame on!!!

No Flames from me

Very good advice. May I add - Buy more than one brand of 00. Pattern it. Buy your stash of the brand that patterns best. Also Do Not pattern ALL of your 00, save some until your stash arrives.

SHHHHHHH ! this store needs to be kept nameless.

Ha ha! But it is truly the greatest store known to man! I mean where else can you do all your grocery shopping, and walk out with a brand new AK and case of ammo?

I just purchased three cases of Remington Express 2 3/4" 00 Buck at Dick's.
They match WalMart's price, so it came to $3.99 per box, $215ish, per case, with tax.
I purchased two cases of Remington "Military Grade 00BK" at a local gunstore, $4.49 per box, $240-ish per case, with tax.
There is ammo out there, you just have to look hard (and beat me to the gun store!)

Try loading your own, it's fun and easy. I am using the old Lee Load All hand tool. Win AA hulls and wads, 36.0 gr HS6, 9 pellets of 0.31" dia. pellets (between #1 buck and 0 buck in size) gets great groups at HD ranges. I am going to try some Lee 1 oz. slugs too.

+1
With just 1 powder (HS-6) I can reload two buckshot loads, slugs and a heavy field load all with 1 hull (RTS)

3.50 a box for federal buck here at a shop.. Not too bad considering it's the only place I can find any.. I know that doesn't help but just sharing.
