Getting burrs out of clothing/gear

So I went hunting (got one) and got myself covered in those little stickers/burrs. Is there a easy way to get them off. I wasn't wanting to run them though the wash unless I was sure it would work (cover the washing machine is em). So what do y'all do to get stickers off your cloths?

Leather gloves.

Maybe an old comb or hairbrush?

Pick them off one at a time is the only way I know.

Best way is to get some hunting clothes they won't stick too in the first place.

I would not recommed washing them.
You will just have microscopic stickers in your shorts when you get done!

You can wash them, but will only have clean burrs, still on the clothes. Just got to pick them off, one by one. Do it while watching tv or listening to the IA Hawkeyes or UNI Panthers on the radio! I like to wear canvas type shirts(Cabelas) and blue jeans or brush pants. Heavier fabrics with smooth tightly woven seem to be really good at repelling burrs. Watch out for jackets with elastic cuffs or waist bands. Just like velcro for burrs. good hunting.

I use a metal slicker brush for use on dogs. You know, the one with the "bent" metal bristles. Works great. I've heard horse slicker brushes work also, but only horse I got is a steel one.

on knit, fleece or soft fabrics you gotta pick em off one at a time. on stiffer fabrics like denim, canvas duck, etc I scrape em off with a knife. You can also try a corn cob or stiff bristle brush.
my best deer hunting woods are full of the dang things. "tick" burrs, cockle burrs, bootjacks, etc... I hate em.

Whats wrong with the Clones? Yeah I know they haven't had a decent season in a few years.

I pick my burrs out one at a time too. Seems you can't walk anywhere in Iowa without getting covered in burrs.

I would give my two daughters a buck or two each when the were young and tweasers and they were glad to pickaway at them.Now I don't hunt and all the girls are married.

lol.... when first married my mom got frustrated at dad for just dumping his clothing full of burrs for her to pick out. so she washed all his underwear with the burr infested clothing... He picks the burrs out himself now...

Tweezers followed by a tape roller (kind used for removing hair and lint from
clothing).

Have a good long album playing in the background and be patient.

I use the edge of my knife to scrape the majority of the sticktights ( that those little flat %$#& ) off the bottom of my pant legs, but the devils hair pins are manually plucked along with the cockleburrs.

Those described above are back east hitch hikers, the western guys have some that are different. I can remember some of them, one called a goat head that was sturdy enough to puncture a bicycle inner tube, and that cholla (did I spell it right) cactus, that stuff is down right dangerous!

Cockleburs get pliered off....... beggar lice get knife raked or duct taped.

yep, use your knife to thin them out, then got to pluck the rest. could be worse. I sat in prickley pear catus things out west one year. a million stickers in my behind.

A 4" drywall knife does a fine job.

The only thing worse is if you have a long haired dog full of them as well.
