getting into autos

more good suggestions as of late everybody, thanks .

Do have plans of getting to the indoor range after the holidays and see what they have that I can test for a test spin. did see a gloack 9mm on the rental list .

Once I can figure out what shoots best for me I will buy one and go to the indoor range or the outside one that has a pistol;e range to be more profecient with it .

Spoiled with the rifle range as it is 10-15 miuntes from my house but only 50 and 100 yard distances.

Had sonsidered using the 38 and have had it with me when hunting .

Not sure if it would handle the hardcast bullets from Buffalo bore , the 38 is a small taurus not rated for the p loads.

Do like the idea of the 22lr handguns as pratice with them is not expensive and would home my technique for sure , great suggestion !

I carry anything from 9mm, 357, 40 and 10mm while in bear and cougar country. I used to carry a .44 mag but the chance of running into a griz is beyond slim. As they are more like 100 miles away. Any of those smaller calibers will be effective as far as I am concerned. I would get what ever might do double duty.
