I found the book utterly worthless as a reloading manual. At least it was on topic, making it just a little bit better than Better Homes and Garden's magazine for a reloading reference material.

That said, if anyone wants it, send me a PM and I'll mail it off to you and you can send me a check to cover the shipping once you get it.

Thanks.

No thanks. I prefer the Lyman Manual, Speer, Hornady, the powder company handouts, etc. I also subscribe to Handloader Magazine and loaddata.com. I ended up with the ABC's manual in a trade, but it didn't contain anything worthwhile for me either, so it's collecting dust on my shelf.

I had a chance to look at The ABC's of reloading and passed on it. I have tried very hard to not bad mouth it on here. But I will pass on it for the same reason you and ReloaderFred have. I use basicaly the same manuals that ReloaderFred does except I have the Sierra V edition 2nd printing instead of Speer and Hornady...

Put it in your library and people will really think you know your stuff on reloading...:D

I found it quite informative as a beginning reloader. Beyond that, I think it's far short of a manual. A "newbie guidebook" might be a better name.

When I decided I wanted to reload it was the first book I read. It was a good introduction. The common wisdom on reloading books/manuals is to own and read several (or more). I think that's true. The ABC of Reloading may not stand up to serious working manuals, but it's got a place in my library. A new reloader could do a lot worse.

The edition I had was priceless, from a wit and wisdom standpoint. I had no other mentor besides that book, at the time. It does NOT have useful reloading data. As a 'recipe book', it's not very useful. BTW, is yours written by Dean Grennell? (sp). If so, I'd gladly pay shipping for a second copy.

ABC's

mgh: Sir; I agree with you.
With beginning reloader/wannabe/curious ABC's is a good accurate accumulation
information.
Apparent misunderstanding is ABC's is hawking a particular product. Sub lineally maybe?
Finding a basic guide; ABC's is it.

It's a good read with a lot of tips and tricks.

Not really a manual though.

The first few chapters of the Lyman book are better IMO.

I agree.

While not a serious manual, "ABC's" is an excellent introduction for the new reloader who cannot get instruction from family / friends. I got quite a bit of information out of it before moving on the standard catalogue of manuals and beginning to load my own.

I also have a copy and like it, it isn't intended to be a load data book and was a good introduction to reloading, I'll probably pass mine onto a friend that is looking into reloading.

I found valuable to read through a couple times, but it isn't something I see as a reference, more like a primer on reloading.

I think the ABCs is a good primer for absolute beginners, before they read a regular manual with load data. It seems kind of thin if you have any experience at all, but it beats the dickens out of trying to learn how to handload one question at a time on the Internet.
