my glock 22 has a scratch on the back of the slide where the black finish came off and you can see the polished metal under it, nothing else is damaged except the finish. Is there some sort of touch up kit or paint/spray i can use to cover it up? i also have a remy 870 that got wet and somehow rust spots took off some of the finish on the lower receiver... these guns are fairly new and i know i should take better care of them but i do let other people borrow them and i know they abuse it.

that was the first thing i tried and it dried kinda purple. also if you wipe it, it will come off.

Finish damage happens with guns. It's a fact of life. Only guns I baby are antiques and my grenade launcher - and even that Penn Arms 40mm has a ding in the barrel now. :(

You can try DuraCoat/GunKote, but that will scratch too, eventually. Just live with the scratch. Each one adds some character to the gun.

Over the years, I have learned not to worry about the wear that eventually shows on handguns that get carried - especially Glocks.
