I am currently using the following load for my 6mm br:

105 Lapua Scenar, CCI BR4, 30.1 grains Varget. I seem to be getting 1 caliber of vertical that is blowing out my groups to about.24 inches center to center, or about .510 inches edge to edge. The rifle is a Savage 10 with a 1:8 LW Barrel 26 inches. I have no idea what the velocity was, since no one I know owns a chrony.

This is a new load for me, and of the eight groups shot yesterday, 1 was a fouler, three showed the exact same behaviour, 3 I ruined, and the last one was was not even shot properly.
It sure is difficult shooting in -10 C weather, without gloves or a heater.

On the plus side the barrel never even got warm. But it sure froze my hands.

i've always dealt w/ vertical stringing by adjusting powder charges up or down (up, usually, since i am working the loads up); this assuming the gun is floated, beded, etc.

Will up the charge in 0.1 grain increments and report back. :)

One caliber of vertical could be anything.

When I read the post I thought you had some real vertical string. :D

I agree with dakotasin, try .1 more, or even .1 less, and give it a go.

going there.. and paying a hell of a lot more attention to technique... it is very real.. blowing out groups.. :(

One caliber of vertical is very real when it is doubling the size of your groups.

Agree to try more powder first, 0.1 gn at a time. If it opens up (no longer just vertical) seating depth may be the answer. If that doesnt show the fix, change the primer. Last option, and I have only had to go this far once, is neck tension.

Good luck, the first inch is always easier to remove than the last tenth!

Very true. When you shoot as well as you do, one bullet out is big.

I have loaded up a bunch of cartridges... now am waiting to go the range. :)
hopefully the loads will give me consistent ragged holes...
Parying for calm conditions, and decent temperatures....

In the last eighteen months I have gone from considering a sub MoA group as being phenomenal to believing that .6 inch edge to edge is a huge group thanks to all the help I have recieved here. Without all your paitent inputs I would still suck at brass prep, reloading, and shooting. All the inane and endless questions were answered, all of the great suggestions on trouble shooting and helping me stay out of trouble.

A big thank you to everyone. Merry Christmas..
