I'm curious about a BUIS being offered by ProMag, it's part # is PM136 and it's a single plane dual aperture rear flip sight for the M16/M4 type rifle/carbines.
It seems to me that it's the exact same sight as the GG&G MAD single plane dual aperture rear flip BUIS, same except in price as the MAD is going from about $120.00 to $150.00 compared to $60.00 for the ProMag Packaged version...
Anyone know if these are indeed the same manufacture?

It appeared on Promag's website as if by magic.

I really doubt GGG would sell it to Promag at a discount. I suspect it is a copy, whether made by Promag or made in China and sold by Promag. But I'm only guessing.

I've been happy with the $30 UTG flipup. When mounted on the last rail lug it flips back toward the carry handle but doesn't interfere and leaves lots of room for the optic. I don't like the big honking locking knob but can't see paying double or more for a similar sight with a smaller one.

They are not exactly the same but they could be the same basic unit. The GG&G has three extra machined cuts and the Promag has a knurled head on the mounting screw instead of the allen head. I have the Promag sights and they are good quality.
The front flip up gas block mount sights are the same except for the knob versus allen head.
