Hey all, I have a good friend of mine who has showed interest in purchasing one of my shotguns. Since it serves as my secondary shotgun and doesn't get too much use, I was actually thinking of simply "gifting" it to him as the holidays are right around the corner. I live in Maryland, and am having a difficult time finding the law(s) regarding "gifting" or "private party" sales here. When I lived in Virginia, it was as simple as pay me, you get gun, thanks for doing business. I plan on drafting a bill of sale just as a precaution, but since I'm really just giving it to him, don't plan on having a sale price more than say, $1.00. He is perfectly legal to own a firearm; no convictions, felonies, misdemeanors, mental adjudication, etc. Can someone provide some insight, please? Thanks, in advance!
