Great story, but I have a hard time believing that schools today would teach people to look around them for weapons. The police are looking for this guy. They really want to nail him bad.

Girl Says She Used Hammer To Escape Kidnapper
POSTED: 10:31 am CST March 22, 2006
TOLEDO, Ohio -- A 14-year-old girl said she escaped from a kidnapper with the help of a hammer.
Police in Toledo, Ohio, said the quick-thinking girl found it in the man's car and used it to hit him in the groin.
The girl told police the man forced her into his car at gunpoint while she was walking to her school bus stop Tuesday.
Police said the girl told them she remembered a lesson from school to always search for a weapon in that kind of situation. So she told her abductor she had dropped her ring in the car and went searching for it. That's when she felt the hammer under her seat.
She said she hit him with it, then ran to her grandmother's house.
The suspect is still being sought.
The child described the alleged abductor as a white male in his 30s, about 6 feet, 4 inches tall, and about 285 pounds. She said he had black hair, a braided goatee and yellowed teeth, according to The Toledo Blade.
The paper reported that the alleged kidnapper was driving a black, four-door car that may have been an older model Ford Taurus or similar looking vehicle. The girl said the car had a blue cloth interior and damage to a rear passenger-side window.
