Just watched the FBI files on the idiot box and the agent was explaining the weapons used in a robbery. He stated that the surveillance video showed them carrying AR 15 assault weapons. The picture clearly showed AK 47's. I would think that a FBI agent would know the difference. It is possible that the director who filmed this made the mistake but they should at least have a consultant to keep things on the up and up.

Just for clairification I know AR means "Armalite Rifle", I cant help but laugh at the media some times too.

I wouldn't. The perceived firearms expertise of government officials in general is largely a myth and FBI is no exception. Most have basic knowledge of how to operate their issue weapons and that's often it.

Nothing new here. The people that get interview for TV are usually PIOs or the like and may not have any idea what they are talking about. No need to rehash it for the 100th time.
